Amazing finds and for incredible prices. Staff is very friendly and helpful in answering questions regarding how to move furniture and are able to suggest movers. Asides from the previous, proceeds go to very important social causes, so you can be and also proud of your finds :)
Love this place. Unlike most thrift stores nowadays, this one actually keeps the prices low, which is something all thrift stores should do. The whole point of people buying used clothes is to help the environment and also to keep prices low for those who can't afford them. The store itself is gorgeous, with so many cool things to see. I will be coming back soon.
Absolutely, here's a Google review for The Brown Elephant in Andersonville:
"The Brown Elephant in Andersonville is a fantastic thrift store that truly embodies the importance of thrifting and utilizing the secondary market. As someone who is passionate about sustainability and reducing waste, I love visiting this store to find unique treasures and give new life to gently used items.
But what's even more impressive about The Brown Elephant is the vital role they play in the community. This thrift store is not only a great place to shop, but it also supports charity and public health programs through the Howard Brown Health organization. The funds raised through The Brown Elephant go towards providing healthcare services and programs to the LGBTQ+ community and those living with HIV/AIDS.
It's clear that The Brown Elephant is a community-driven organization, and it shows in the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the diverse selection of items available. I always leave feeling happy with my purchases, knowing that I'm not only reducing waste but also supporting a great cause.
Overall, I highly recommend The Brown Elephant in Andersonville to anyone looking for a fun and sustainable shopping experience. You never know what you might find, and you can feel good knowing that your purchases are making a difference in the community."
I love dropping off old newspapers and bags so customers can wrap their purchases. At the back door drop-off, Robbie was most helpful and friendly. Love the staff there. Keep up the good work. 🇺🇸👍😁❤️🎩. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Mark at the backdoor drop-off. Another oh, so friendly staffer. …
had to use both google accounts to express my love for this store. this store is my family’s new favorite place in chicago. i love how they donate some of the profits and how their prices are so affordable and cute.
super unique environment and very kind staff, good finds too!
Love this resale shop and the causes they support. It's also one of the few resale shops around that sells furniture. They get a range of stuff but I've seen some very nice quality stuff in there. They sell the furniture quickly, so I recommend going right when they open if you're looking for furniture. They'll hold the furniture for a day for you if you need to rent a truck. I was recently there and got this high table for the kitchen for $40.
Great store! Friendly staff with more affordable antiques and thrift shop items than the rest of Chicago. Beautiful 1920s movie theater turned into a store. Absolutely amazing sight! Will comeback again!
